Food, Farmers and Local Food Trends in the Pacific Northwest is a reading from The Northwest Vegetarian Cookbook and a talk and about the vegetables, fruits, grains and beans grown by Northwest farmers. Debra will also discuss the challenges of local farmers, the benefits of plant-based diet, and food trends at farmers' markets. A few easy recipes from The Northwest Vegetarian Cookbook will be served.
Cooking instructor, freelance writer and cookbook author, DEBRA DANIELS-ZELLER taught healthy vegetarian cooking classes in Seattle for over 16 years. She has written numerous food and recipe articles and has been a regular contributor to Vegetarian Journal for over a decade. In The Northwest Vegetarian Cookbook, Debra pays homage to Washington and Oregon farmers and delivers over 200 recipes for local foods.
